JeffC [to Bernie]: "Excellent"
JamesBS says, "Nice."
SL has disconnected.
JanetMO says, "The teachers section is very clear."
JeffreyT says, "The links could use some comments"
JeffC wonders what % of kids actually make it through The Crucible
nowadays. It's a tough read any year.
Scott [guest] says, "Glad to see the focus on substance, rather than pop
culture of recent movies"
BernieD says, "Guess they're all waiting for the movie."
NancyHW says, "The simple direct text of the process is something I
would like to achieve"
ChristinaW says, "Nicely designed."
BernieD asks, "Does anyone think we're spoonfeeding them in this
process?"
Scott [guest] says, "This is good. Hemmingway wrote in short sentences.
Good scaffolding."
NancyHW says, "I think they have space to make it their own."
JamesBS says, "I think there is a little spoonfeeding. There isn't as
much exploration."
JeffreyT says, "Perhaps some of the days could have blank squares and
the students would have to think more about what should
go there."
JeffC says, "Ah... I missed the links page the first time around. I
think a certain degree of spoonfeeding is good. But
spoonfeeding should turn into springboarding. For example,
the links that are there should be starting points.
Students should be expected to come up with at least three
URLs of their own during the search process... and that
should be incorporated into student project pages (and
electronic portfoloios) as part of the PBL process."
ChristinaW says, "A little spoonfeeding doesn't hurt. MacCarthyism far
far away; they might actually know slightly more about
the Witch Trials."
BernieD says, "It's a fine fuzzy line, I think, between too much and too
little scaffolding."
BernieD says, "Yes... both eras are prehistoric to these kids."
JeffreyT says, "The students shouldn't have to search the web for the
info. That is what the webquest is for. There time can
be better served on the thinking, not the searching"
SueMR says, "Is there any way the students can be prevented from seeing
the "Teacher Section"."
