BernieD says, "It IS vast. That's one reason I call it a seed site.
There are lots of things you could base a WebQuest on
here."

DebbieB has arrived.
Debbie B's Recorder (recording) has arrived.
BernieD projects seed3a.
---------------
Here, for example, is the issues grid for the 49th Congressional
District where I live. I'm ashamed to admit that until I checked here, I
didn't know who was running against our incumbent Congressman... a guy I
want to see packing his bags. Here on one page we can size up the
contenders.

BernieD projects the URL:

TomHD asks, "So laying a wqon top of this would take the vastness out
of it, I assume?"

CynthiaM says, "whisper Chip Yes, it worked. I always forget the
commands too."

PhilipAB says, "The trick is going to be giving the right scaffolding to
direct students to appropriate resources."

BernieD says, "Yes, Tom... you'd pick out a couple of small parts of the
site to build your quest around."

BernieD agrees with Philip.

TomHD asks, "Anyone have examples as to what a task might be based on
this web site?"

PhilipAB says, "Students could play many roles here..."

BernieD asks, "How about grappling with the question of how regional
politics are different? Look at the candidates from SoCal
vs. Mississippi vs. Vermont. Where do they stand on
issues?"

JanetMO has arrived.
Janetrecorder (recording) has arrived.
PhilipAB exclaims, "Wow, I didn't realize we could click on different
issues!"

SahaiJ has arrived.
DebbieB says, "/BJB Finally. It always does this now. No text window for
a while, though I can see the site and (To talk, type here
and press return)"

BernieD says, "Or pick out a politician and pretend to be a journalist
following his/her campaign. Write a weekly account of how
the campaign is going with kids issues as the focus."

SahaiJ says, "bonsoir"

PhilipAB asks, "Jean, we were just discussing a political site. BJ,
could you project again?"
