TomHD says, "I think if they were bigger tasks, choice would work well-
"pick one of the following rich, culminating tasks...""

TomHD asks, "As I look over these 29 WQs on the same topic, I wonder if
too many of us are trying to recreate the wheel?"

SusanneN says, "yes,a personal or a group task choice is better"

TomHD says, "Versus taking a pre-made one, and tweaking it to our
individual needs..."

MidgeF going out on a limb

BernieD says, "Indeed, Tom. Sooner or later there will be a great one
for most topics and we can just use those instead of
inventing our own."

TomHD says, "Referring back to Midge's query, time is really the big
blocker to making great WQs..."

BernieD agrees with Midge. (Come back in now from that limb!)

SusanneN [to Tom]: "well if teachers are in a learning situation about
creating MM artifacts themselves..."

MidgeF says, "Using WebQuests is very different from making your own
WebQuest."

BernieD says, "Much easier. Gives you practice at getting off center
stage."

TomHD asks, "So, Midge, do you push teachers to use someone else’s before
they make their own?"

MidgeF says, "Bernie knows I am frustrated with broken links in present
WebQuests <grin>"

SusanneN asks, "this is a useful tool, not only for the reason to create
individuality in materials, but as much for the learning
effect it may have on those teachers, and the example for
their colleagues ?"

BernieD says, "The 404 problem."
