3. The dot com economy may be down, but it's not out. There's no
question in a business landscape like today's, decisions need to be made
fast and well.

4. Education isn't just about preparing workers. It's also about
preparing the next generation of citizens. We expect them to be able to
vote intelligently and voting is the purest example I can conjure up of
an act that involves decision-making.

5. There are more macro-level decisions to be made these days, too.
Today's children will face far more career and life choices than did our
generation.
|
 |
For these reasons, and others, I think it's important that we give kids
practice at genuine decision-making in school.

I spent some time poking through my database of WebQuests looking for
examples of WebQuests that develop decision-making skills. There weren't
as many great ones as I think we need, but those that exist seem to fall
out into three categories:

2. Developing an informed opinion
3. Ranking and Rating
