Since the beginning, higher level thinking has been a part of the definition of a WebQuest. In the ten years since then, this has been the hardest part for some teachers to implement. If you do a Google Search for the word "WebQuest", many of the lessons you'll find (even on the first page of the 1,000,000+ results) tend not to meet that standard. They may have the superficial appearance of a WebQuest (Introduction, Task, Process, etc.) but they are only asking learners to recall or apply lower level thinking. How can YOU do better than that? At the end of this WebQuest you'll be able to discern gradations of higher level thinking skills in WebQuests and ramp up the quality of your own next WebQuest. |
